3D Printing

3D printing is an additive manufacturing method, sometimes referred to as FDM. (Fused Deposition Modeling)  in with a thermal plastic material is used to print object in 3 dimensions it is popular for prototyping, concept models and small part runs as it retains a high degree of accuracy, parts can be designed with a exceptionally high strength to weight ratio and set up cost is low compared to injection molding. Parts do show fine lines that depending on finish requirements may need post processing including sanding, vapor smoothing and salt remelting.

 

To do a print a .STL file is rendered from a CAD Model and sent to a slicer program. This program with prepare to the Gcode for the print.

 

We use LulzBot printers for there Rugged reliability in printing jobs right the first time and their robust construction to limit down time.
